Returnable is an offline-first app. Your receipt data, photos, and app settings stay on your device. We do not upload your receipt photos or receipt contents to any server. For in-app purchases and subscriptions, limited purchase-related data is processed by third-party services (see Third-Party Services below).
All of this data is stored locally on your device using an on-device database (SQLite). It is never uploaded to any server.
Returnable uses on-device OCR (Google ML Kit Text Recognition) to read text from receipt photos. All processing happens locally on your device. No images or text are sent to external servers.
If you enable App Lock, Returnable uses your device's built-in biometric system (fingerprint or face unlock). Returnable does not store or access your biometric data — authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system.
When you make a purchase, limited purchase-related data (such as transaction ID, product purchased, and subscription status) is processed by third-party services. This data is required to verify your purchase and manage your subscription. We do not have access to your payment method details (credit card, bank account).
Returnable uses the following third-party services only for app functionality, updates, and in-app purchase management:
Returnable does not use analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or user tracking services at this time.
When you use the Share or Export feature, data is shared only through your device's native sharing system. Returnable does not send data to any server — you control where the exported file goes.
Returnable is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
If we update this policy, the changes will be reflected here with an updated date. Any material changes to how Returnable handles data will be described in an updated version of this policy.
